Chrono Trigger - Yearnings of the Wind (600 A.D.)
Game Track Setting:
- 600 A.D. Overworld
Memories:
-
Fun fact no one has mentioned yet... the main music composer of the game (Yasunori Mitsuda) made an almost entirely completed sound track to the game, but his hard drive crashed and he had to start entirely over again... we'll never get to hear any of those songs. "I made a lot of new material based off of the memory and feeling of the original compositions.." He was also stated as having music and tunes come to him in dreams. Talented guy... and I'm very thankful for his work.

Yasunori Mitsuda literally saved my life 17 years ago. I felt terribly depressed because I had no real friends and everyone that I knew seemed to treat me like an enemy, so I decided to put an end to my own life. I climb to the rooftop of a building and I was ready to jump, but suddenly these songs played in my mind and I remembered the pure beauty of them and I started to cry. A few minutes later I realized that life has so many beautiful things that I should focus on instead of the ugly and bad stuff.

Not just one of the greatest RPG's of all time, one of the greatest video games of all time.

I never played or even looked into the original Chrono Trigger, but picked it up for the DS when it was later released for it. Game's a fucking masterpiece! I almost cried several times, just admiring the artwork and soundtrack.

Ahhhh yes the game that was so good I called out sick at school just to play it all morning into the evening. So many great memories

I remember back in my days in the University. They created a project of a "time machine" a somewhat capsule where we put things of our time. And after many years they will re-open. I decided to save a Chrono Trigger cartridge, hoping someone in de 2050s will play it for the first time ❤️

Just after few notes from Corridors Of Time, my eyes got wet instantly. It's 7:26 am, I need to work, but my mind is already somewhere in 1000 A.D, searching for emotions and memories, created by this masterpiece.

I still play Chrono Trigger now and have finished it probably 300 times or more. It never gets old and is that awesome and the soundtrack is equally awesome. It's timeless.

When i hear the opening song, it makes me feel as if i'm traveling to the end of time, anxiously preparing for a fight with a kaiju porcupine from hell. My only help is from an Arthurian Frog, my hot blonde crossbow wielding gf, an arrogant vampire man, an attractive cave-babe, Bulma from DBZ, and a robot with self esteem issues. My God, the memories.

I didn't play this game until last year. Without any nostalgia glasses to go on, I can easily say this is one of the best games I've ever played

I’m 38 years old and this just brought me back to when I was a kid, the 90’s.... when things were just right looking through a kids lense

My father bought this game for me when I was just a boy, he told me if I were to be like crono I was bound to find my marle. One of the last things he said to me, when I reached 22 years old I completed it for the first time. I was always so scared to see this story end. I wished I never done that. I love this game from the bottom of my heart.

I wish I could play this game for the first time again. As with many SNES games. I'm also thinking FF6.

The intro... Damn! So many memories. You can argue which one is the best RPG, or the Best FF or Dragon Q, even which game have the crown in SNES... but there's just ONE Chrono Trigger and that made it so special. Music, story, characters, moments, plot twist, emotions, decisions and many other things to be happy for playing this game.

The scene of lucca as a child running back and forth in panic as her mom is getting pulled into the machine is heart-wrenching

Chrono Trigger has one of the best soundtracks ever, along with Xenogears.

To Far Away Times...wow! The wonder of childhood distilled into a song. I loved being a kid. Can't wait for my son to play this game!

This game is a masterpiece. The only RPG I like better than it is FFVI. I still remember in 1995 my neighbor got CT before I did, and when we first turned it on, seeing the pendulum swinging back and forth as we watched the opening and that music...I just knew we were in for something epic! BTW Zelda 2 was the first game I am aware of that used the New Game+ feature

I've played hundreds of games so far in my life and to this day I think my single favorite moment in any of the games I've played is when Frog, finally having accepted the restored Masamune and his role as the hero of legend, declares "Mine name is Glenn! Cyrus's hopes and dreams, and now the Masamune! Forthwith I shall slay Magus and restore honor!" before splitting the mountain to open the path to Magus' lair. It's such a fantastic hero moment.

You can't tell me that Frog's Theme isn't one of the greatest pieces of music for any game ever. It contains both hurt and hope, both light and dark. It's triumphant in it's bravado but not without the caution that painful experience will bring.

I'm actually playing this game right now for the first time.... As a side note, I had a super nintendo as a kid, with some great and memorable games, but this was one that I only heard about, but never got to play.... the game has exceeded my expectations in every way thus far, and as I continue playing it, I am constantly thinking to myself what it must have felt like to play this game when it had first come out in 1995....
