Dark Souls - Artorias's Theme
Memories:
-
DS1 will always be my favorite of the three Dark Souls games. Compared to Demons Souls, where in all the levels are instanced behind loading screens, DS1 made the world feel alive with its minimal loading screens between areas giving it an almost open world adventure like quality.

This is still the dark souls game I think about the most, I love the art style the story I really really like too it's so unique and it adds so many interesting things to dark souls lore, I also think the game has the best area variety in terms of how different and unique areas are, also majula in my opinion will always be the best souls game hub

Nothing compares to hearing the boss theme and then going on the journey through the trilogy just to get to the soul of cinder and hear that piano start back up all over again. Gives me chills every time, what a franchise

The only bad thing about playing the original Dark Souls is that you can never experience it for the first time again.

This game literally saved my life as depressing as the game is. The over 100+ days I sunk in, everything I put to distract myself from everyday life. Thank you Dark Souls 3. You saved me. Truely a masterpiece of gaming.

With all its flaws, playing Dark souls for the first time as a 14 year old back in 2012 was the single most cathartic experience I ever had with a game. As a 25 year old now, I am still chasing that high, and coming to grips with the fact that those core memories will be only that, memories. Dark souls is not just a game.

The Ivory King is one of my favorite Souls fights. The first time I beat it it was with max human summons which I think is 3 other players so it was a huge fight which was a very unique experience.

The Pisaca in the Duke's Archives are the maids of Gwynevere that Seath has experimented upon, hence the miracles. You can hear the one in the corner crying. Hints at the origin of Pricilla

I remember playing Sekiro first, and thinking it was the best game ever made. I saw gameplay of Dark Souls and thought it looked so much worse at first and was upset that everyone was praising it far more than they did Sekiro, so I played it out of spite. Yeah it's the best game ever made

The Dark Souls effect is one of the best things I’ve ever experienced in a game. In suffering do we find the strength to endure and find victory.

If there is still a voice line that still lingers in my mind even after all this time since 2014 when I first got into souls franchise through dark souls 2 it would her final lines . "My name is lucatiel. I beg of you remember my name . For i may not myself ." And after the bonfire reset she goes away forever.

Elden Ring may be a massive success but for me this will always be my comfort zone.

Hold on babe. I have to watch this 2 hour long essay on why a game I like is one of the greatest creations of mankind.

I pre-ordered this game back in May, 2016. If it wasn't for Xbox 360 Games With Gold giving Dark Souls I would have never gotten into Dark Souls. Playing this game on release was one of the best events in my life- I was seasoned, prepared, eager and in my friend group I was known as the Dark Souls pro. This game still stands the test of time- I bought it again on Black Friday on PC now and it is still as good as its always been. Love you, Dark Souls <3

Of the original Dark Souls games, this was easily my favorite to play solo. I love how gloomy and ethereal everything feels. Even some of the location transitions (Earthen Peak to Iron Keep) didn’t feel awkward to me, but rather surreal. It felt like my character had gaps in his memory due to the curse and hollowing. That may be just how I interpreted it, but I am glad I did as it added to the vibe of the game to me.

Ive been playing video games for over 30 years. No game has given me the same specific feeling that playing ds1 for the first time did. I still cant put my finger on what the exact "vibe" is, but damn. I remember specifically getting out of the asylum and looking out at the snowy mountains and thinking itll be a game i remember for decades

the way this map connects to itself is honestly insane, when i first played and defeated capri demon and unlocked that gate which lead right back to the shrine i was like huh i felt like id been pushing through the map for ages just to open one door and be back at the start, unlocking the lift was something else entirely lol the map design is just perfect

King Vendric's reveal is to me one of the best pieces of visual storytelling in the souls series.

I think the Darksign was a curse that makes humans lose their memories, it's explain in a similar way in DS2, and the reason Gwyn branded humans with the Darksign is to erase their memory in case they refused to link the flame, so basically if you chose the age of darkness ending the curse is triggered and you lose your memory and you're placed back in the Undead Asylum and the cycle starts over again.

Dark Souls changed my life single-handedly when I was trying to stabilize my lifestyle. Now I'm unemployed again after several attempts to work in game studios to pursue my dream of making a GOOD GAME and that made me think about DS1 again. I still analyze what makes a game good even with a lot of bugs and weird shit in it and pretty amazed by how far did the DS1 gone with this. Thanks for sharing your opinions on the game

When I first played this game I ended up fighting skeletons for two hours before I found out where I was supposed to go, but fighting skeletons at level one taught me how to get the parry timing down, how to roll better to avoid their attacks and how to bait enemies
