Disco Elysium - La Revacholiere
Memories:
-
Playing this game two years ago for the first time and every song I would discover was a revelation, epiphany like. And I was telling myself : « So it is true. There still are other ways to compose music, to create video games and write stories. »

Perception (Legendary: Success): "From the radio computer, you heard a sound. Barely perceptible, at first, but then, it grows louder. No, not just a sound. It is a music" Conceptualization: "The music touches you. First, your ear. Then, your heart. And finally, your soul. You feel at peace" Drama: "This music is a masterpiece, sire. You should enjoy it." Volition: "Yes, let us take a rest and take it all in. The investigation can wait" You: "Kim, do you mind if we stop for a while and listen to the music?" Kim: He smiles, albeit faintly. "Yes, I suppose we can have a momentary break"

I will never forget playing this. A beautiful game that will stick with me as I get older. You’re the miracle, Harry.

I also want to share a moment I had with Volition: Electrochemistry: You have to find some drugs, yesterday they just got you but the effects are fading away slowly, don't you just wonder how did you manage to get up at 7.30? Volition: No, you got up at 7.30, because YOU PROMISED YOURSELF TO DO THIS EVERY DAY 15 YEARS AGO.

One of the best in-game moments for me was when Kim was proud to be my partner. You and me, Kim. You and me.

"The urge is strong, but you are stronger." made me tear up, love this game

Here as ZA/UM is slowly dying. But don't cry they are gone. Smile at what they achieved. Disco Elysium will always be in our hearts.

This game transcended being just a "game", for me there are scenes that will stick with me forever. I felt like I was right there with Kim experiencing them! I even bought a horrific necktie IRL, I'm considering hanging it from my ceiling fan 😹 Very well put together video, thank you for uploading!

I remember getting to THAT phone call by the boardwalk and choosing to go ahead with it to spend some time. My Volition was pretty high so I ended up getting the red check where Volition tries to get you to hang it up and somehow stuck the landing at 28%. Something about Volition telling Harry that he doesn't just have to keep replaying his traumas on loop and can break the cycle felt so encouraging.

What is so unique about volition is that it is the one skill that will always be on your side. This is shown by the interaction with Oranje Dancer, where he tells you the others are compromised. All other skills can be depressive, impulsive or both, but Volition truly just wants you to be your best you.

me cklicking on this thinking I'm gonna study to this but then I hear the first note and immediately start bursting into tears clutching my chest gasping for air closing the tab lying face down on the floor for one hour trying to recover from the emotional whiplash

I thought I would never feel this way about a game ever. It's a masterpiece. An interactive art gallery and fiction novel. Glorious sound design. The psychology, the writing. I feel it in my bones. I don't know how else to describe it.

I suffered from a benzo and alcohol addiction since I was 16. I remember playing this game for the first time and crying because I related even though i was only 23. I'm 26 and celebrating 6 months clean after having multiple seizures from withdrawals and making my own decision to go to detox and rehab, It took a year to detox safely but I made it. This game is one of the reasons why. Thank you volition.
