As a kid I liked the photo guy for some reason. It was like a nice surprise and seeing all the photos at the end credit made me feel all kinds of emotions.

Earthbound is tied with Chrono Trigger for my favorite video game of all time. I absolutely love it, and find myself playing it through again every few years when I get the fancy. Just recently, I played it for the first time without an SNES (because mine finally gave out) and used an emulator. I never actually knew Ness would get homesick if he didn't check in often enough. I always saved like crazy, but when I had save slates, I used those instead.

When I was little, I always thought that Ness was inside of the Final Starman depicted on the boxart, controlling it or something. I now realize it's just his reflection in the Starman's visor

I know everyone’s said it already, but I’m sooo glad there’s still love out there for the mother/earthbound community we’re totally starved for literally any content

Earthbound is a combination of all of those dreams we had where random shit happens and often don't make sense that is somehow we barely remember parts of.

Earthbound is a wonderful game with an amazing soundtrack and an interesting story. Though, I will say the back tracking can be a bitch if you don‘t have a guide to help you. I will say that I enjoyed playing this thing all the way through. However, Mother 3 is (in my opinion) a far superior experience. The backtracking makes sense considering the game is very story heavy. The way the music plays during dialogue gives this game such a cinematic feel for a Game Boy Advance game. Not to mention Itoi had to plan this story out over the years working on it for the N64 and GBA. I felt like the game was an amazing grand finale.

It's been over 2 years since I first played Earthbound and I still can't get it out of my head, especially the music. It's like no gaming soundtrack I have ever heard before, it's one of a kind.

The first time I finished this game was last week. Smiles and Tears always seems to get me. And the slideshow... Though the cameraman appeared annoying at first, he managed to "bring back the fondest of memories..." There were hard, fun and easy parts. They were well balanced. And the fact that you travel around the world then go back in time to beat the ultimate evil... It was awesome. I can't rate this game. If I gave it a 10/10 that would still be too low. Thank you, Shigesato Itoi for creating such an amazing series...thank you...

When I was a boy I wanted to be Ness. I wanted to run around town and use my psychic powers for good. The child in me still does.

Earthbound seems to be a game that's really a reflection of the youths of the programmers who pieced it together, along with their fears and memories. This in turn is a shared memory in their own way for the others who have played it by making them reflect on their own lives now that they are older.

Earthbound was one of those games where the style and theme always charms you back. You think you're on a standard adventure kind of deal, beating up local wildlife with a baseball bat, and then a new age hippy brushes his teeth to blind you. And I still love the photographer. To this day, any time someone asks for a picture I tell them to say "fuzzy pickles" instead of "cheese."

I never comment on a youtube comment section, but this game will always and forever hold dear in my heart. It's one of those experiences that you remember where you were and at exactly what time it happened. This is that game. I can trace so much of my childhood back to just this soundtrack. I kid you guys not, about ten feet away, I have in a little cubby a vertical (Should hook it back up what am I waiting for) SNES, and on top of it, Earthbound, FF3, and Super Mario Brothers. I'm one of the lucky ones who has a brother with the mindset to save these gems. I'll never, ever, give them up. My classics for life!

2024, and still believe that this was the best game ever made! I played this game when it first came out. My son watched me as I played. I regret to this day that I didn’t let him play first, even though I was the one who wanted it in the first place. He’s 40 this year, and I think I’ll call him tomorrow to tell him that. Peace everyone! 💜🙏🏼💜
