I remember playing gg xx accent core plus on my psp back in the day. I had no idea how fighting games worked, but the amazing visual style kept me returning to the game for years.

Oh my god I've been looking for Guilt Gear Dust Strikers for so long. I recently got into the series, but always thought I dreamed of having a Guilty Gear platforming game on my R4 as a kid. Guess I wasn't delusional afterall

I'm going to be real, I love Strive. It's got depth but it's also builds you up from easier combos to harder ones while still rewarding you in games. Losing feels fun. I bounced off xrd despite loving it because the execution barrier was so high. Gotta disagree with your initial assessment of it. With that said I feel like we gotta remember the original game was designed in and era of arcades and bars so it was intended for 2 kids or 2 drunk adults to pick up and play even though it came out on the ps4.

My first GG was the PSP port of XX Accent Core Plus. To this day, I still prefer it over modern GG games.

I miss A.B.A I have Guilty Gear A XX Core for my PS3 and I remember sitting there for hours trying to learn combos. It’s super difficult and broken lol

Believe it or not, Pro Jumper Guilty Gear Tangent was the game that introduced me to the series. I never played it, but I saw it in an issue of Nintendo Power many years ago. I was really confused when my second impression of the series was Bridget.

I bought The Missing Link & XX Accent Core R on my Switch around 2019. I did play the former and I have zero regrets, though I have yet to beat an arcade mode yet. Favorite memory I had with this game was bringing my Switch to a gathering at a friends and playing a few rounds with friends and goofing off. And by goofing off I mean the moment I started a match with one of my friends I Insta-killed from the get go as they question life and what just happened. Good times!

There is another unlockable character in Petit. It is called GG Milia and it takes the last slot. I only remember this because I couldn't get her time trial down for retroachievments

I used to play GG Accent Core on the PSP back in the day. As far as I know it was nothing more than a port, but it exists!

I emulated GG Advance on my PC in like 2005, and it was my first fighting game. I didn't have a controller, so I learned how to DP and IAD on "leverless" before it was cool lol. And those super-compressed guitar riffs on the character select screen are forever burned into my memory. What a time.
