the music was the best in the first game. so mysterious almost melancholic, such a wide range of notes and memorable melodies. I miss it and good games that opened ones imagination

I recently finished playing CE with a friend of mine that had never played a Halo game before. He was incredibly impressed by the simple fact that grunts ran away when stuck with plas grenades, but elites ran towards you. Simple things like that is what makes CE incredible. It's crazy that this game came out 19 years ago.

Just watching this made me remember when I played Halo 2 for the first time, got to the second mission, when the Hunters show up, Sgt. Johnson shouts "Let the Chief show you how it's done", then without missing a beat my uncle walks in after hearing that, and says, "Yes, let the 10 year old show you how it's done." I couldn't stop laughing the entire mission. That is all.

A fine video overall, but there are several points where it is obvious you've not been listening to what characters are saying in the cutscenes, or you've not been paying attention to the things the game has set up. Prime example to me is the 'Tartarus' shield' rant, when if you paid attention it's Johnson's Beam Rifle that lowers the shield allowing you to strike, you're not supposed to bum rush him like you kept doing. I enjoyed the video, as the original 3 games are a huge part of my childhood, but there were some frustrating parts to listen to/watch.

My literal childhood right here. When this game dropped I was in the 5th grade and I begged dad for one until I got an Xbox and a copy of Halo CE for Christmas 2001. Few moments in my video game experiences since then have come even remotely close to the excitement I felt unwrapping possibly THE best FPS game ever made. Those were good times.

The first encounter with The Flood will always stay with me. The build up to the horrifying reveal will never be outdone. It’s just that great and terrifying.

I remember being terrified of the Flood as a child. The build up to their introduction was just too dread inducing for me. My step brother had to get us past that part before I could come back into the room. Love it.

Ah yes, very much indeed remember me and my sister playing this in co-op together, very much remember playing this with friends who are no longer with me, very much remember asking my older cousin to play for me cause I was scared of the flood, very much remember finishing the game within a week, even tho I was like 8, very much remember that I once told my mom to play this with me and did for like a min, very much remember the time invested into that game Halo will always be the number one

Also: I remember everyone bitching about how clunky the Warthog was but I remember that fondly. It felt great if you were running high difficulty with a friend and you managed to expertly guide a warthog through a wave of enemies without crashing into something and sliding across a few enemies' bodies along the way. Ahhh the memories.
