Payday 2 and hotline Miami have two things in common; You play as a remorseless sociopathic one man army wearing a mask, and the soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks in any video game.

I'm glad someone is as obsessed with this game as I am. I remember getting both of these games when I was 14 in 2015 at hlm2's launch and completing both of them the same day. Never have I before seen or played a game as unique and genius as hlm in both story and gameplay. To this day I'm still an absolute sucker for these games, their aesthetics, and practically any media related to them. It's awesome to see content like this made about the game even in the current year after all this time.

I thought this was just an OST playlist I did not expect to see Jacket himself mixing the whole thing into an S rank masterpiece.

For some people it is a PTSD soundtrack. I don't remember how many times I have died in this game, until I left the idea of completing it

"To be honest, we have seen some videos recently that almost made a 180 on Hotline Miami 2. That's just kind of fun to see... some people calling it a masterpiece and misunderstood game. More and more people are starting to, maybe, appreciate it a bit more. And seeing it for what it is." -Denis Wedin

Brother that transition from Paris into Run blew my fucking socks off. Goosebumps, actually. Came completely unexpectedly, I was just vibing out to Paris when it came in and MAN... great work!! E: NVM this whole mix is bomb. Just the idea alone is gold - the execution is even better. Once again, great work!!

Honestly the game’s cover art and title screen foreshadowing the game’s ending is one of the best literary games examples I’ve ever seen.

Thank you for reminding me how much I love this game. After playing and loving Hotline Miami 1 I remember being super hype for the sequel, I totally did not expect it to make me feel what it did. HM2 legit changed how I saw a lot of things in life and it certainly became one of my most favorite games ever as soon as a I beat it (Which I did the day it was released). the story really stuck with me and made see videogames on a whole different light, just like it happened to you it was this game that made me realize that videogames could be art. I'm so happy to see people giving this game so much love even after all these years, THANK YOU.

I would love to see you do a video on Starship: Titanic. Loved that one when I was a teen.

Hotline Miami 2 dropped when I was in my first year of uni and completely solidified the aesthetic, themes, soundtrack etc. as a big part of my cultural identity. Even though I loved HM1 on my Vita during high school, 2 when I was a bit older to consider the themes and story more intimately made a huge impact. Really keen to see what Dennaton does next. Great analysis

Just got both hotline miami 1 & 2 off a steam sale. Beat 1 and it was absolutely deserving of the praise it gets. Hotline miami 2 though, I have never in my life played a more unfair, frustrating, convoluted game than this one. It does do some things better than the first game, like the OST is amazing and the visual effects are stunning, but dont even get me started on the fucking level design. it's like they didn't even test it.

This brought back so many memories, like the super difficult Hawaii mission and the Pardo posts on Reddit. The soundtrack formed my music taste to this day. One of the GOAT experiences in gaming for me
