Okami - The Sunrise
Memories:
-
14 years later, playing this on the Switch, the game hasn't aged a day. That art style can't age poorly, which is part of its beauty. A fantastic story that tells many Japanese folk tales to the uninitiated, with bits for those who already know, this game is perfect.

Even yet i still consider Okami one of the greatest games ever made and i've purchased a lot of titles since then but none of them draw me back quite as often as Okami does.

When I finished the game I cried during the credits, not because it was a sad ending (it was rather a happy one) but because it has finally ended and I felt empty.

This game has and (for the foreseeable future) will top my list of favorite games ever since I first played it in 2006.

I still cannot get over the Ninetails battle theme. Not quite as demented as Lechku and Nechku's, but it's such a well-composed piece. It just oozes power. The first time you fight her, you hear that music and you have no idea what to expect, and you're both just running all of a sudden, it's arguably the most epic moment in the entire game.

One of the most beautiful games ever made and it was my sister's all-time favorite video game. She passed from cancer 6 years ago. I will 100% the sequel in her memory.

Idk why but the cutscene where everyone starts believing in the gods again near the end always makes tears shed for me

Playing this game for the first time and omg.... this game is amazing. I'm ashamed of myself for not playing it sooner. 30 or so hours in and I can comfortably say this is a true masterpiece. Thanks for doing a did you know on this game. It deserves a spot in gaming's hall of fame.

My favoritr game of all time. I've played a lot of games in my day, thousands of hours in WoW, Borderlands, and many others. This game has always been my fav since it's release. When people tell me that video games aren't art I refer them directly to this game or Shadow of the Colossus. Just everything about this is a masterpiece. Even after playing through so many times it still hits me right in the feels.

After I finished the game, I sat there with an empty hole in my heart. Yes, the game was finished. But there was no more to play. Nothing. I would go home and say, "I'll go play some Okami!" and suddenly remember that there's no more to play. So all I can do is replay. And it is still just as exciting.

The best Zelda game that Nintendo never made. This is one of the finest videogames I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing and the HD version is just gorgeous. It's a damn shame that Clover closed down as the game ends in a way that promises more adventures but now the game stands as one of those beautiful one offs that will always be fondly remembered. I can't believe I've had this game since day one on PS2 and have played it through several times yet never clocked that the Celestial Brush was Ammy's tail.

Man, I remember having so many many good memories of this game. First time my bro showed it to me, I was like meh, let's see how this goes, and then I knew I had to finish this game so, so bad. I even went to collect all the stray beads. The colours, the graphics, the creativeness, the bosses, Okami, oh the ever lovely Okami. This game marked a before and after in my gaming life. I think I've never found anything like it. Almost forgot to say, about the way of the attacks! That was such a clever and amazing idea! I wanna play this game again... Thank you so much for putting these songs together. I might cry a little bit...

Aside from the phenomenal story, game play and wonderful art, the music was the hard hitter for me and give Okami one of the best replay values of any game I have ever gotten my hands on. This game, in my opinion, was just beyond amazing and I will always find myself sitting for hours and playing it... even if it has been a long time between each. I can never get enough of this game. Okamiden is good as well. Same feel, same music, same art and a great continuity of an already amazing story. On a special note... this has been one of very VERY FEW games that brought me to tears in the end. If you have not played this game through, you simply MUST.

I've known this game since it's debut in 2006, but never watched nor played it until now! I can't believe how underrated Okami seems to be, despite that I used to see fan art of it constantly spammed on Deviant Art. After have finishing it on the Nintendo Switch version for the first time, I really enjoyed it! 😄 One of the most emotional games I've ever played since Paper Mario 2. And definitely dig the Japanese-musical vibe to it!
