I never thought it was a problem that Ratchet & Clank were best friends in Going Commando, as the ending of the first game perfectly sets up their budding friendship with Clank's arm getting fixed. We didn't need to see what was next, as it was implied. I think Ratchet's arc was done really well and never had an issue with his personality.

After lord knows how many years, finally someone gives a true interesting analysis of this game's legendary soundtrack! David Bergeaud was a huge influence on my music back in middle and high school. Heck he's the reason I got into music and fell in love with producing! And now I can finally get a more music theory based and production based insight into how he made this iconic soundtrack. No amount of likes will be enough to express my gratitude for you taking the time to make this.

Sometimes you play a game from your childhood and you realize it wasn't as good as you remembered. Like Transformers or Fantastic Four. I played them again recently and realized that they were fun for a child, but not fun for adult me. But man... Deadlocked holds up so fucking well. The soundtrack, the weapons, the story and characters are amazing. On top of custom difficulties? And great multiplayer design? This game rocks. I know they sacrificed a bit of level exploration for this game but what you get in return is so much better. They could have fucked this game up like most games outside OG trilogies but they brought something new and fresh to the table and I love that.

Rc1 is an immersive game. Good challenge as a kid. The soundtrack is timeless.

Perfectly fits the atmosphere of the game's retro sci-fi scenery. One of the greatest ost imo top 10 in gaming.

My Favorite Game of the series, My Favorite songs, and holy crap by far my favorite ARMOR!! The feel of the game amazing, and being the first R & C game with Co-op, that just raps up the deal as the best game I've been playing since I can remember... And now that I can listen to the music, just brings back memories that I never thought I would be seeing again.

The way you say you would rewrite the ending is how I already interpret the current ending; not that Ratchet feels bad and changes his mind, but that he really meant "you'll be alright, I can fix your arm" the first time around, which is why Ratchet sounds surprised when Clank misunderstands him and starts walking away.

It makes me feel so ancient that this came out in 2002.. there's too much nostalgia here, this was my childhood

As someone sarcastic, cynical and jaded I absolutely loved ratchet in this game, he absolutely cracked me up and felt like such a "real" character

I believe, the first R&C I played as a kid is the reason I love drum n bass and jungle so much as an adult. Revisiting the soundtrack with a better sound system gives me goosebumps.

I have always loved this game when I was younger, and I still love it now, the music is still an absolute banger, I'm thankful for the fact that as much as I may be younger than most people rn as I write this, I'm glad I got to play this game, and enjoy every aspect of it

The Ratchet and Clank games on PS2 were the PS2 games for me as a kid, I played 1-3 so many times, at some point I swear I had beaten 3 to an absurd degree. My brother was also pretty into them and replayed them from time to time, however he made it clear that he did not like 1 after 2 and 3 came out, meanwhile I've always had an appreciation for 1's slightly more antiquated gameplay because while it is much less refined, it lends itself to be incredibly unique and I can't really think of much games that play like it.

Anyone remember the trailers on nearly all PS2 demo discs in 2001/2002?

This is literally the best music analysis for a game I have ever seen. Such a great feeling of eureka when you tied the music aesthetic to the aesthetic of the rest of the game. This is without a doubt one of the best videos on R&C and a testament to its greatness. I never realized how much influence this game has had on my musical taste until now. Thank you for making this.

That’s why I like Going Commando so much. It has the edge in its writing from the first game and the timeless gameplay loop that became a franchise staple.

I'm a fan of Insomniac since the Spyro days and when I played Ratchet and Clank for the first time, I was amazed about how the game was a evolution from the PS1 days. In my honest opinion, they are way better developers that Naughty Dog in general.
