I remember having the original Donkey Country OST on CD whilst going on vacation with my family. This and Killer Cuts from Killer Instinct were such huge steps in gaming music at the time. DK's sountrack is just pure amazing. Sells the games for sure.

I remember, as a blind kid, I would sit and watch my brother and sisters play this game, and whenever they got to the water level, I would just sit and listen to the music. It was so beautiful. I love this game for just that. The music.

DKC music is its own genre, change my mind. I've never come across ambient music that resonates like DKC does. Even as a kid, this was one those special games i'd turn the game on and sit there listening to the music (caught dancing to Funky Kong's music several times too lol)

well thank goodness This is not Donkey Kong Country Cool and calm music. Because if it was, you might trigger a sense of nostalgia so potent it sends me into a state of esctasy. I would also have to wipe the tears away from the beautiful sound track if it was dkc ost.

I'm going to echo the sentiments of my fellow old-timers; it's great to see someone appreciating these games who didn't grow up with them. I was six when my family got DKC for Xmas in '94, and the series remains my hands-down favorite to this day.

You HAD to be there to really get why they're so great. idk how to explain it, but the memories of playing some of the most difficult platformers at the time before gaming had evolved into what it is now, is something that will never be understood by a newcomer. back then, you really bonded with players who loved this game. it was a seal of a hardcore gamer.

When the beat drops at 40:05 is goated! They will never make games like they used to when they actually cared and tried not just some money grabbing thing. Flying around underwater on a swordfish is a loving memory i won't ever forget.

I have such huge nostalgia for this trilogy. This was my childhood. DKC3 got plenty of hate but I loved it just as much as the other two. DKC Returns just wasn't the same; it did not have the same magic.

I'm nearly in tears listening to this. Reminds me of a simpler time, even though life was harder it had this charm about it.. riding my bike around with friends, graffiti in the tunnels, gameboy in my backpack.. good times

I played dkc2 on switch one day a while back just cause I vaguely remember hearing it was good, and I discovered one of my new favorite games of all time that day Everything just hits right for me, the relaxing ambient soundtrack, the gorgeous prerendered graphics, the amazing level design, etc I can definitely see what all the hype was about with dkc2 hehe
