We all know what the gameboy sounds like... But this is how we remember it..

The aesthetic of gen 3 will always be the colours of my childhood. Such beautiful pixel art

I remember falling asleep to the Verdanturf Town theme as a kid, running out my battery on my SP in the process....Good memories.

As an OG old ass Pokémon fan, gen three will always be my favorite, despite all its flaws

I will not lie. I have tears in my eyes. Oh the good old memories when life wasn't that difficult.. I was a young kid when I played this game, now I have son who dances around when I put this music on hahaha

This might sound dumb, my mom and I used to play Pokémon (specially emerald) when I was a kid. She passed in February, and this fills me with so much nostalgia. Not just as a kid, but also for my mom, thank you :,)

As a kid who’s first real adventure came in Hoenn, this absolutely hits home. Great job.

I love that you touched on how hard it is to find Chimecho. Since no trainers use it in Ruby AND it has such a small encounter rate in a small area, I legitimately thought it was a Gen 4 Pokemon growing up (not helped by the addition of a pre-evolution in that gen). I played Ruby for hundreds of hours as a kid and never once found it.

This brings back so many memories... especially of beating the Elite 4 at the grocery store, and my mother continuously telling me to stop standing in the middle of the produce aisles.

I am Japanese. I'm sorry, my English is not good. I'm a junior high school student now, and I'm working hard to study English using this. I love Pokemon! Thank you for the wonderful song! P.S. Thank you everyone!

When I was a kid, I hated the battle frontier. "You're telling me that my level 79 Blaziken will get nerfed to level 50?? Oh heck no!" Nowadays, I look back and have no idea what I missed out on.

One of my earliest memories is drawing me riding my swampert in like 1st grade because of how obsessed I was with this game. I played a good amount of Crystal so to go from that FULL COLOR,INDIVIDUAL SPRITES, and just such a huge selection of different Pokémon types and styles to choose from. I remember my team was ass but I didn’t care because they looked so cool.

This one of the best soundtracks ever made not just including pokemon. The melodies are so damn nice and the battle themes get my heart pumping still! Great instrument quality for a gameboySP too. The tribal drums and trumpets are soooo good. The remakes better do this shit justice!

My favorite memory of Gen 3 is when I realized the map is just a big square-shaped Yin-Yang symbol, separated diagonally, with Mt. Chimney and Sootopolis (both volcanic craters btw) as the Yin & Yang center dots respectively

Ever since I found this soundtrack, I have been reliving the days I spent my time playing Pokémon Sapphire as kid in middle school but I am also spending quality time with my baby boy playing with him. I' am glad that he enjoys this as well he looks at me with a big smile every time Little Root starts !

Hope one of these videos blows up super big for you…a good million or two..I always think X & Y has that potential, hasn’t really been a in detail retrospective, at least that I can remember. So many damn Pokémon in that game though, you’d have to cover so much

I randomly found myself humming the tune at 3:50 today and it made me so emotional, I loved this game more than any of the other ones. The music is so amazing, I can’t believe I still remember it after like 15-20 years.

Let me say this on behalf of the Japanese people. “Thank you very much.” This always gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I listen to. I can tell how much you guys love Pokémon not only from your music, but also from the way you chose the backgrounds. I'll come back to listen to this again! I'm sure I'll keep coming back to listen until I die. I’m looking forward to watching your new Music!!

I love the absol bit of the video, I remember I flipped my shit when I realized you encounter it RIGHT BEFORE all the shit goes down. It’s the disaster warning monster, and you find it before the cataclysmic events begin. Such a great subtle inclusion there.

Thank you for compiling these nostalgia-soaked, timeless soundtracks that take me back to simpler times - quite specifically the year 2016. I'd bought a New Nintendo 3DS XL from the US and picked up Alpha Sapphire (since I'd played Ruby as a kid). Loved the QOL improvements, and being able to glide on Latios/Latias was lovely. 11/10 - through rose-tinted glasses.

I think what you’ve said about gen 3 being the ideal sweet spot for Pokémon learnsets and coverage is very accurate. Distinctly remember in DPP having my staraptor learn close combat and realizing we’ve truly jumped the shark lol. That gen really started the moveset homogeneity train with busted moves like stealth rock and u turn being so widely distributed, when they really should’ve stayed a lot more exclusive to their respective types to bolster their niches.
