I remember my childhood best friend's mom Kristy bought me Pokemon Emerald for my birthday. I still remember how elated I was to this day (I'm 30 now) and appreciated her so much. She was fighting a terrible cancer and unfortunately lost. But despite this, she always made her kids a priority and took care of what she needed to. She was so kind and giving, always thinking of others. Rest in peace Kristy. You are a beautiful soul. My mom and I still talk about you.

I must have been around 8 years old when I got my Silver version. It was an early birthday gift my parents got me and I remember reading the case and the manual in the car once we left Walmart. I caught so many HootHoots that night.

My abuelita gifted me Pokemon Gold, I even have the picture of me and her besides the christmas tree holding the game box. This was my first Pokemon game. I remember that feeling like it was yesterday! RIP Tita!

I was born in 93 and my dad died June of 2001. I started being able to read and Pokémon Silver was my first game in the franchise. My dad and I went to movies a lot when we could, and the last movie I saw with him was the Entei movie. Hearing these sounds brings me back to a really different time and how grinding my Feraligatr up and beating Red was the only kind of goal I had. Everything else around me was falling apart, but talking with kids and trading our Pokémon on the link cable made reality feel attainable again. These games helped more than I expected, but I am so grateful to hear these sounds again as loud as I can blast my phone.

I'll always remember when i bought Soulsilver back in 2010, December 31st to be more precise and spent the entire New Year's Eve just playing it all day and it was just awesome revisiting the region where my Pokèmon journey began back when i was a kid and that to me is like returning back home after a long time away. Still have my copy with me almost 15 years later with everything and Pokéwalker "which i've only used once and still looks brand new though i don't think it turns on anymore XD"

Gen 3 is definitively my favorite Gen of all. The nostalgia of playing pokemon Sapphire. Having Munch the little Mudkip as my partner pokemon. Exploring the Hoenn region, from our Littleroot Town to Victory Road, stopping by at my favorite routes and towns such as Route 113 with its Spinda which had no spots on my save of the game, Fourtree city with its secret base decoration shop. Just appreciating the bicycle theme while hatching eggs in the Verdanturf-Mauville cycle and the surf theme just because it's relaxing. I wish I could experience this excitement I felt when I first played it each playthrough.

I grew up in a pretty poor home. We often did not have enough money to get out let alone anything else... That said my mother is a freaking beast and would figure something out so I could go to bk on Tuesdays for the Pokemon meetings and meet up with other kids. I think this maybe was one of the key events that made me fall even more in love with Pokemon (and more so my loving mother). There is a whole conversation to be had about how art (pokemon in this case) can help us through hard times. Thank God for art and thank God for loving parents.

I'm 28, married with one kid and just listening to the first 25 minutes of this takes me back to my childhood when i had no resposabilities or a f*cking job. Im almost crying now. Pokemon was my childhood and my savior. This makes me rethink my life choices and overwhelmes me with nostalgia.

My favorite thing about GS was the cellphone. I really liked checking back in with trainers that I beat early on who felt like they were going on their own parallel journey without being saddled with the narrative importance of being a proper "rival" and foil to the player character.

Haven't heard this music in ages. I am so full of emotion right now. I remember playing Silver when I was really young and my grandparents were still alive. This music almost immediately brought them to mind. I miss them. Thank you, pokemon, for playing your role in keeping me connected with my young self and the loved ones that are not here anymore. To anyone reading this, hope you are doing well.

Pokémon Soul Silver is a fantastic game and remake. Not having to worry about your save being tied to a battery also helps. You can tell a huge amount of love was put into these games. I loved taking the Pokéwalker to school and interacting with my friends and being impressed over how many steps I could get. One thing I also loved doing was fighting Gym Leader rematches during the proper time of day. And then when I beat them, immediately call them on the PokéGear to summon them back to the Fighting Dojo. Really helped with grinding for Red.

Man sitting here wiping tears away. R/S/E were such a part of my childhood and all those happy memories came flooding back from a simple time! I've introduced my daughter to these games and seeing her get the same enjoyment I did, brings a smile to my face

Man that music makes me so emotional. I have a really heavy, dark story about how Pokemon Silver, and Blue before that, helped me cope through a very very VERY difficult time in my life. I won't go into it, but, Silver's Johto region was a second home for me, when I had nowhere else to go, and going back to Kanto at the end felt like coming home even though at the time I knew I'd never go home in real life. I'm forever indebted to these games, and I wish I could share the level of joy I feel just hearing the music with everyone, and I hope that it helped someone else through a dark period of their time, or just reinforced the joy they felt when things were going well for them.
