2/18/24 Today we take my dad off life support after being in a two week coma, he had a fatal asthma attack leading to cardiac arrest, in a few hours we're going to let him go... I'm terrified of going the rest of my life without him (He's 56 I'm 24) all the things he'll miss now all the things we did together we will never do again. He was my hero my father and my best friend. Love you dad. Edit: it's over, he went quickly in the end and was able to be an organ donor.

Don't know if anyone remembers it but the original BrawlBRSTM upload had this comment thread that had been going for years where someone pledged to continue to come back to this song and comment every time they did. I'm gonna miss that, it was nice to come back to it every once in a while.

My father showed up to school during lunch in second grade one day, full army attire, grabbed my shoulder and said "We have to go." He freaked me out. I was literally thinking like "did Mom die or something?" he was so serious and walked with a purpose... When we got to the van i asked him what was going on. He pulled out DKC2 and said "i just wanted you to get a chance to play this before all your friends." Then i freaked out in a different way. To this day, i view DKC2 as a platforming masterpiece and it will forever hold a place in my heart.

Just bought this game again, my grandma had the SNES at her place and I used to play it all the time when I was visiting her but she lost the cartridge. I am playing it right now and I must admit this is one of the best videogame I've ever played. This is going to be an epic journey!!

Lost my dad in 2009 and my mom is fighting lung cancer now in 2022. Videogame OST and this song specifically has always been a huge positive coping mechanism for me in tough times. I loved Donkey Kong Country growing up - and still do. In a nostalgic way, it reminds me of when my parents were alive and well and I was just a kid with no worries. This song is so meaningful with the difficulty of the level paralleling the difficulties of life - and how it helps to stay calm throughout. I’m happy to see so many others benefiting from stickerbush symphony also : )

I was 13 years old. It was Christmas Eve 1995. I remember getting up around 7 am and played this game before I went to my grandma's for Christmas. It reminds me of better, simpler times.

Stickerbrush Symphony just hits different. I used to go into the secret menu to play the music, and this is one I would leave on when studying or cleaning my room. It just made my brain happy. Same with Forest Interlude.

Checkpoint 06/28/23 9:52 AM I was on the brink of committing self-harm after a bunch of bad events happened to me. That's when my friend suddenly invited me to their place to hang out. Little did I know that it was gonna be a therapy session with the boys. I put this music on in the background and practically spilled my heart and soul out to them about my problems. This music reminds me of how throughout all the trials and tribulations, there's always something to enjoy in the worst of times. Thank you David Wise for one of the best game tracks.

I remember feeling strange playing this level, a mix of sadness, reflection, and happiness at the same time. Throughout my life, I subconsciously kept this melody at the back of my mind someway somehow. The soundtrack is equally good as the game

Favorite game of all time I just beat it again recently. This game also reminds me of my first crush ever. Throw back to first grade in Ms. Goldberg class 1998. My crushes name was Danielle. She had asked me if I had the guide book to to DKC 2 and I sure did. I brought it with me to school the next day. Got my first kiss for doing that. I swear I got the memory of an elephant. I can not believe I’m actually sharing this story on here.

the sweetness of childhood... waking up at 5am by myself to watch the sunrise... climbing a tree in my forested backyard and listening to the soft faint hum of cars on a neighborhood road nearby... the excitement of birthdays and unwrapping presents... making friends with neighborkids... riding a bicycle through winding paths to hang out with mysterious far away neighbor kids... eating watermelon on a hot summers day.. waking up and being excited for every new day... ...all over and gone. growing up is bittersweet. Miss you mom!
