I finished playing through it with my 5 year old daughter recently. Her first time, my 5th or so. She loved every minute of it and so did I. All she asked for for Christmas were Link and Zelda plush dolls, which she sleeps with every night. It has withstood the test of time.

I will always defend the Zelda cartoon. Not everything has to "hold up" as an adult. 8 year old me was just happy seeing Nintendo cartoons with Nintendo music and Nintendo sounds, so it got the job done.

Great soundtrack, and I'm glad to have the whole thing here, but DAMN is it ever out of sequence. Get the master sword, then go up Death Mountain, then activate the town guard (which cannot ever happen again once you get the master sword) then go to the dark world, THEN GO TO THE CASTLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, then go to the pendant dungeon for the first time... Good thing I play randomizer, or this would mess with my head much more 😂

Playing LttP as your first zelda game especially as a CHILD - is magical and is a completely different feeling altogether than playing as a hardened grown man.

When I was a kid, Zelda was one of the few games my friend was allowed to play on his NES because his religious dad didn't like games that had magical or 'non christian' themes, but because Link had a cruciform on his shield he thought it was a christian game lol 😆

I played Zelda in 1988, I was 5. I then received The Adventure of Link as a gift the next year; I'm still playing them now into my 40s (with Wind Waker being my favorite game of all time).

Still my favorite Zelda game. I never got into the ocarina of time at all. If you played this game when it first came out, when you were in the castle and you could hear the rain hitting the castle outside… Your mind was blown

Being as I was a kid in the 1980s, I thought it funny as i got older that cartoons from when I was a kid couldn't have dead people (unless you were Real Ghostbusters and they're ghosts), but things could die in cartoon movies.

Best Zelda game and lovely music remake..played it as a child,teen and adult and never dissapoints. Those where the days ..simplex times in life and when Zelda was Zelda .. Dear Zelda creators thankyou for this but please bring back Hyrule with Castles, Classic fairytale elements and AWSOME MUSIC..dont forget It.

Opening Song brought me to tears. I use to play this with an old lady who use to work at a hospital with my mom. She was like my moms big sister. She was the coolest old lady. I didnt know moms knew how to play nintendo. They were like grandparents to me. Buch and Marlene i love you guys and think of you from time to time. The reason im a huge zelda fan and the reason why i draw so much.

As someone who grew up on the 3D Zeldas i was impressed by just how foundational LTTP was. There’s no added fluff, just fundamentals. I was really blown away by how densely packed with content the over world is. There doesn’t seem to be any wasted space and you can seriously spend hours just digging into it when you aren’t doing the dungeons: I’m not sure if I would call it the best Zelda game but i think it’s probably the most definitive. I mean has there even been another zelda game since where you actually get the tri force at the end?
