This soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. Without a doubt, one of the best soundtracks in this series. Not only does it pay homage to some of the older gems of this series (Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears, Simon's Theme, and Beginning), but it has a lot of great original songs of its own. Perfect for the season of Halloween too. And that's saying a lot considering Bloodlines was the first and only game in the series that was made for the Sega Genesis.

I was playing Bloodlines a few days ago for the first time and i found it very accesible, i kinda suck at challenging games and never before played a Castelvania game, now i´m kinda encourage to master this game...

Bloodlines is such a special game. While I never owned a copy of my own, a friend of mine when I was a kid had the game and we played it often, I remember how blown away I was by the dark tone and (for the time) realistic graphics. This game sits on the top of my most-wanted list for my growing Genesis collection

Hands down the best Castlevania game of the 16 bit generation. The soundtrack is amazing! You got to love the way the Mega Drive showcases music. This game was and is a masterpiece. The graphics, music, sound effects & gameplay is top notch. This one of them games again that showcased the power of the Mega Drive the 16 Bit Power House that brought the Arcade Experience home better than the PC Engine and SNES IMO. Man you got to love the Mega Drive/Genesis! My favorite castlevania games 1. Bloodlines - Sega Mega Drive 2. Rondo - PC Engine 3. Dracula's Curse - Nes 4. Super Castlevania IV - SNES

Bloodlines is tied in my no.3 slot with SCIV with 3 and rondo of blood 1 or 2 depending on what side of bed I get up that day. Honestly the only 2 things that hold this classic back are some horrible sound effects and the brutal 2 continue limit. The ‘boss rush’ gauntlet never really bothered me as much as I know it has bothered some. Although if you are a first time player, I could see how that could be an exercise in frustration. Well thought out and constructive opinions here. You sir have earned my subscription.

I remember picking this game up brand new at a Toys R Us...during the PS2 era!!! It totally blew my mind! Great music, great game!

Got to play this game for the first time last weekend, and it's definitely great. I really enjoyed the speed of the game, it's a lot faster than Castlevania 4. I still like 4 more, but Bloodlines is better in some aspects.

I've adored SCV4 since my childhood, it's still my favorite atmosphere-wise, but after playing Bloodlines, man, I'm sure glad we have both. The whole WW1 plot device is so sick, the levels are really varied by means of traveling through Europe, and the two protags play really differently. I also love that we have a bit of story continuation through Portrait of Ruin. Never played Rondo, so the aforementioned two and Belmont's Revenge are my three favorite Classicvanias.

I always thought this game was incredible. I remember first reading about it on Mean Machines Megadrive Magazine then renting it from the video store when I was a young teen. I adored the living heck out of that game. I always contemplated on buying it even after renting the game over a dozen several times. Kinda wished I brought it now even though I no longer have a Megadrive but still being able to relive my experience via other means. What a game, absolutely fantastic. They gave Megadrive owners a reason to be happy with their Megadrive and not be too jealous of those SNES owners back. So dreamy.

I do cleary admit that i have more connection with the SCV4 soundtrack but Bloodlines is absolutely stunning and a gem on it's own. What you hear is the genesis soundchip to it's fullest. The growling basslines and mesmerizing FM goodness. There is no other castlevania game on the platform. True masterpiece.

I was 14 when this game released. We played everything out, but the lions share of our time was SFII & Mk2. After playing it through recently I regret that I missed it. If you're a true Castlevania Fan, or a younger guy going back to play the classics it's worth the time. I'll always be partial to Super Castlevania IV as I was an SNES guy who owned a Genesis for Sonic & Ecco. This game is definitely fire, and they used the Genesis in the same way Sonic Team could take advantage of its strengths.

one of the best castlevanias ever. I was a snes guy but later with the emulation i discovered this game and played to the end(also circle of the moon). One of the strongest games in the amazing genesis library

15 years ago I walked into a Value Village and picked up Bloodlines (plastic box version), Contra Hard Corps, Streets of Rage 2, and Batman Returns, all in mint new condition complete with manuals, posters and inserts, bundled together in a clear plastic bag hanging on a wall for $5.99.
