I can’t believe how many times they set out to do character redesigns, when to this day, Alucard in SoTN still is the drippiest protagonist ever.

No joke, when I first heard this play in Portrait of Ruin's 13th Street... I teared up. 😢 And that was after previously hearing the return of "Cross Your Heart" in the Dark Academy. But this track? Definitely makes it hit home that it's the followup to "Castlevania Bloodlines".

My theory for why the prophecy and Richter being the last Belmont to use the whip, is because due to Richter being corrupted by Shaft in Symphony of the Night, the spirit of the Vampire Killer rejected the Belmont line as being unworthy to use it, until the line could purify itself from that corruption and prove itself worthy for the whip again, hence why they gave it to the Morrises, who (from what I remember) are a distant offshoot to the Belmonts, which explains why they can't use the whip that well without it killing them.

I remember playing Castlevania as a kid. When I finally beat Dracula, my friend ran down the street and told his parents as though we'd achieved some heroic deed.

Castlevania is truly one of the greatest videogame series of all time. It also has the most spectacular musical scores ever created. This is one favorite GT retrospectives, thank you for combining all episodes into long video!😊👏

You feel the danger and desperation of walking through the castle ironically like the first time, while listening to this melody a tear falls down my cheek without knowing why.

I just watched a 7 hour documentary on Castlevania. This is not something I ever expected I would say the first time I popped Castlevania 2 into my NES 35 years ago.

Johnny, you COOKED with this script. The last third is some of your best jokes brother, on God. I remember when you first posted the bloodlines video and you've really upped your craft since then.

You have to remember SOTN released before internet was really widely available. I remember beating it as a kid and throughly enjoying it. Then a couple years later a friend revealing to me that there's a whole second half to the game! It was mind boggling for the time.

How can they bring up Symphony of the Night without even so much as mentioning the music. Still one of the best gaming sound tracks I've ever heard. At the time it was mind blowing. They had all that space on the disc and used it for fulling orchestrated CD audio tracks. It was fucking fantastic!

Back in the 80s, my dad and I were huge 80s horror movie fans, he let me watch a lot. He brought home this game for me out of nowhere because he saw the horror elements on the box, ever since then I've played every Castlevania game, thanks dad. And good job on this frickin 8 hour video, you got another sub.
